A big thank you to @joellegarguilo from @abc7ny for highlighting the Conbody founders @cossmarte story.

The mission has always remained the same; help improve people’s health and provide second chances to the formerly incarcerated. ❤️💪🏽

Here are some great quotes from both Coss and Joelle:

“A fitness empire built on second chances.” - Joelle

“In the confines of solitary confinement, what seemed like an ending would become his beginning.” - Joelle

“How do you start from ground zero and give some one a humanistic opportunity?” - Coss

“We have seen the rates of recidivism drop after employment.” - Coss

Lastly, should Mark Wahlberg play Coss in the biopic of his life story? 🎞️ 🎥 Who would you cast?

The room laughed when he said it.
That's usually how it goes when the vision is bigger than the circumstances.

Coss Marte got out and built exactly what they said couldn't be done.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 650,000 people are released from prison every year. The vast majority of them—approximately two-thirds—will likely be rearrested within three years of their release. In many instances, these individuals find themselves becoming another recidivism statistic, as they exit prison to return to the same challenging conditions that led to their initial arrest and face discriminatory barriers to employment and housing that are imposed on ex-prisoners.

After serving six years for drug-related charges, Coss Marte was determined to break this cycle, not only for himself but to help as many of his fellow returning citizens as he could. His mission: to build ConBody, a fitness business based on the workout method he developed in prison, operated by people whose lives had been impacted by the criminal justice system.

Oscar-nominated director Debra Granik embedded with Coss over eight years after his release to follow his journey and that of the trainers who sustain ConBody as they find their footing in post-carceral life. The result is the compelling multi-part documentary CONBODY VS EVERYBODY, which presents a portrait of the daily lives, aspirations, and hardships of a community in search of a second chance and a fresh start.

CONBODY VS EVERYBODY — a new episodic documentary from Oscar-nominated director Debra Granik — premiering exclusively on the Criterion Channel on May 1.

Filmed over eight years, Granik's five-part series follows Coss Marte, the formerly incarcerated founder of Conbody, a Lower East Side gym with a unique social purpose: to employ formerly incarcerated people like himself in an attempt to combat the high rate of recidivism. As Marte wages an uphill battle against the stigma of incarceration and the realities of a relentlessly gentrifying city where second chances are hard to come by, what emerges is both an inspiring portrait of a man on a mission and a powerful examination of a system that continues to punish people even after they have served their time.

For those in New York, you can see CONBODY VS EVERYBODY on Sunday, April 26 at @metrograph with Granik and Marte + April 28–May 1 at @dctvny before its exclusive streaming premiere on the Criterion Channel.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
