Tackling climate change is more important than ever.

2024 was a great year for Murmur. Following our launch in March, we set to work supporting several groundbreaking projects – with over £240,000 donated by art and music organisations, going to initiatives driving and inspiring change across the music and visual art industries.

These included @climatepartner (in conjunction with the Music ClimatePact and the @vinyl.alliance ), @impalamusic , the CASI PROJECT, @reporterbrasil and @_friendsoftheearth Europe (FoEE) x European Coalition for Corporate Justice (ECCJ).

Later in the year, we launched the Murmur Artist Support Programme, a new initiative that will work with artists who wish to speak up about climate and nature.

This year, we continue our support for impactful change. We can’t wait to see what 2025 brings.

We are proud to announce our funding for 2024 which includes a vinyl supply research project working with ClimatePartner and The Vinyl Alliance, support for the IMPALA Independent Music Companies Association calculator and a new enterprise called Climate Action Services International which will service consulting, auditing and training in the art sector and created by the founders of Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC).

@karennedwards_writer has been appointed Director of Murmur Artists Support. An editor and writer of over 20 years, Karen is deeply passionate about inspiring impactful change to reduce the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss, and has worked closely with PRs, managers and music artists over to produce engaging content. The programme is developing in consultation with Richard Dawes founder of @dawbellpr, @caiuspawson, Chair of Murmur, and Matthew Phillips of Groundswell.

We are proud to support Repórter Brasil, an NGO that works at the intersection of supply chains, human rights, slave labour, and environmental issues as well as Friends of the Earth Europe (FoEE) and European Coalition for Corporate Justice (ECCJ) who are leading a campaigning coalition of 20 NGOs working at the intersection of climate and human rights.
