London-based producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist, Oliver Night @olivernight steps forward with his first album on Tru Thoughts, ‘Between The Lines’

‘Between The Lines’ is a rich, genre-spanning project that traces the evolution of his sound. Blending deep-rooted influences from UK sound system culture with forward-thinking production, the album features legendary British rapper and producer, Roots Manuva @rootsmanuvabrandnewofficial, alongside celebrated innovators KAYA FYAH @originalfyahstartah, TREV @trevelyansounds, Goldbar @goldbarsounds, Megatronic @megatronicuk, David Mrakpor @davidmrakpor (of @bluelab_beats) and Jay Phelps @iamjayphelps, each adding their own unique energy to the record.

Rooted in community, collaboration and experimentation, the album moves fluidly through broken rhythms, lush harmonies and soulful textures.

Stylistically, Oliver resists neat definitions. His tracks move fluidly between moods and genres, broken rhythms, hip-hop sensibility, house textures and jazzy chords often coexisting in one piece. But no matter the format, there’s a distinct signature that ties it all together.

We’re excited to reveal the Tru Thoughts Takeover at this year’s @goodvibrationssociety festival, with @olivernight and Footshooter @footshootersound playing at The Warren on Sunday. @ebisoda and @kylakilzer & @maxnoir.uk also feature in this year’s line up, playing the main stage. Good Vibrations Society is a 3-day festival of music, wellbeing and ecology, set in the magical surroundings of the Ashdown Forest, taking place 31 July – 2 August. @quietdawn ‘s been steadily shining a light on broken beat from France to the rest of the world, and it’s great to have his touch on this.

Me and Quiet Dawn go back a bit, sharing collabs with me singing on his past tracks, so it feels right having him step into this one. He’s taken it somewhere deeper and more hypnotic with his proper signature sound.
Always love when a track gets reinterpreted like this… new energy, same spirit.

Following the release of his groove-driven album ‘Between The Lines’, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist @olivernight returns with ‘Between The Lines (Remixes), Vol. 1’

The project features reinterpretations of key tracks by producers Coflo @coflothesoulshifter, @quietdawn, Cengiz @itscengiz_ and @evm128, blending broken beat, house, and soulful electronic styles, all while maintaining the warmth and musicality of the original album.

The project opens with EVM128’s reinterpretation of “Boss”, Oliver’s collaboration with legendary UK rapper and producer Roots Manuva @rootsmanuvabrandnewofficial. Check it.
