Streaming free for a limited time (see link in bio), The Dawn Chorus grew out of a restlessness and a desire to speak into the moment we all found ourselves in back in 2020. @brandonvedder and I enlisted 35 friends in 13 countries to make this special film, which emerged as part covid diary and part meditation on the dawn as a symbol for rebirth. 🙏 Happy International Dawn Chorus day, y'all.

Hey LA! My boy Lukas (@lukas.filmss) is at it again, making another epic film for the Sundown Film Festival at LACHSA (currently a junior). He's still looking for one more actor so I'm posting here in hopes that y'all can be of assistance. Shoot is in one week! 🙏

LOGLINE: A withdrawn teenage drummer struggling to care for his catatonic mother and shoulder adult responsibilities finds an unexpected awakening in the raw chaos of an underground metal show—forcing him to confront his grief, anger, and what it means to grow up.

On this #MLK Day, thinking about a little plea I make to students in every class I teach, to keep speaking into what might feel like the meaningless void. That our voices are reality-shaping tools and contribute to the pool of ideas we consider when we are looking for new ways to do life. So desperate for something new aren't we? A new consciousness from which we can collectively move thru the world, a goal post toward which humanity can direct its efforts in reconfiguring society. As Roman Kznaric writes in "The Good Ancestor", these utopian visions like MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, "reframe the human story, offering fresh pathways along which our imaginations can travel" & create "beacons of hope for radically transforming the future."
