This body of work is informed by lived experience shaped through life, culture, and the influence of other people’s opinions. It considers ideas of control and power, returning repeatedly to questions of « why » and « what if. » These questions are guided by an ongoing internal dialogue that shapes how emotion, memory, and the presence of death are understood and processed in everyday life.

The figures are presented in a state of restraint, stitched, sealed, and locked. This operates both as a response to external pressure and as a deliberate act of focus and self-preservation. By restricting what is expressed and what is heard, the work holds a tension between protection and restriction, reflecting on what it means to remain true to oneself within a world that is constantly producing noise.

Baker Street, you’ve been wild.

Over the past six months we reimagined a landmark retail unit - vacant for seven years, on Baker Street into a vibrant, collaborative art space where artists, galleries and curators joined forces behind the project. Thank you to everyone who was part of it, and to all who came through - it’s been a dream come true.

We are proud to have worked with The Portman Estate and Westminster Council’s Meanwhile On Programme to fight the slow disappearance of art spaces across London flattening the cultural layer of the high street. Spaces like BLEUR matter because you accidentally find them. They sit between the barber shop and the off-licence and make contemporary art part of daily life instead of a planned trip. And they belong on the high street.

We have now closed the doors of our Baker Street space, but we are excited to announce that we have moved into our new home down the road and we will be opening at the start of next month.

Our heartfelt thanks to The Portman Estate for believing in the work we do and making it possible. An artistic response in support of humanitarian efforts in Gaza

In the heart of Gaza, the toll of conflict claims the lives of innocent women and children every passing hour. The art world has become divided, but we are not. Refusing to stay silent, we are collectively drawing a line in the sand standing tall in solidarity. Because there is no division when it comes to children and women’s right to protection and safety under international humanitarian and human rights laws.

Bleur and all participating artists are coming together in an auction to raise funds for Gaza Sunbirds who are providing much needed community-led aid in Gaza. 100% of the proceeds of this auction will be donated to supporting their frontline initiative on the ground.

Curators’ note: We acknowledge the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the atrocities that have taken place on both sides. As a female-led label, we cannot sit from the comfort of our homes in London while overlooking the unfolding suffering. We are holding space for reflection and resilience, because we won’t stop advocating for children and women’s right to protection and safety under international humanitarian and human rights laws. This auction is part of the ‘BLEUR in solidarity’, a long-term initiative in support of humanitarian efforts to protect women and children in zones of conflict.

We had the privilege of shooting the artists in their creative spaces and getting a glimpse of what their approach and process has been like for the exhibition. Lucia was listening to the album in the background as we stepped into her space and putting the finishing touches to bring Eartha’s fierce, unapologetic nature to life through the distinctive Lucia lens.

Baker Street the only place to be this Wednesday as BLEUR presents Second Pressing, an art exhibition curated by Meet In The MIDI where 8 talented artists have reimagined 8 LPs from 8 decades!
 
We had the privilege of shooting the artists in their creative spaces and getting a glimpse of what their approach and process has been like for the exhibition. As soon we entered Gloria’s studio, we were surrounded by her stylish takes on shoes and her fire to create!
 
Gloria is representing the 1960s and chose to reimagine The Velvet Underground and Nico.
