Last Saturday, @deaddarlingscollective gave me the chance to bring one of these pieces out of the studio. The collective creates something truly special by highlighting works made in the process—those we might not usually consider ready to leave the studio.
A heartfelt thank you to my dear @jessie.yingying.gong for the invitation, and to @francois_jonquet for welcoming the piece into your thoughtful collection.

L’Esprit d’escalier (ΠΑΝΙΚΟΣ), 2019
Photography
Micro-encapsulated pigmented inkjet print
on Hahnemühle RAG Ultra Smooth 305 gsm Photo Paper
18 x 24 ( 24 x 30 with passe-partout)
-
There is something in this image that is both irreparable and perfect. A white glass door lies shattered. Shards of glass litter the floor. A dark silhouette torn from the glass — an unlikely form, half-human, half-animal — stands out from the scene. On the painted glass, barely legible, is graffiti that seems to belong to another era, another story. In 2019, for the solo exhibition ΠΑΝΙΚΟΣ — panic, in Greek — presented at STOA 42, @stoa42 I performed a piece entitled ‘L’Esprit d’escalier’. This expression, inherited from Denis Diderot, refers to the thought that comes too late, to the word found after the fact, whilst descending (a staircase) — a thought of delay, of suspension, of echo — in reverse. Embodying the god Pan on the gallery’s staircase, clad in heels, my body whirling between top and bottom, between animal and ritual, I’m loosing my balance and crashes into a glass door, which shatters on impact. The body precedes thought and, at that moment, in that suspended fraction of time, the glass door suddenly shatters, revealing a concrete wall. The coincidence is too precise to be mere chance: the exhibition is titled ΠΑΝΙΚΟΣ — panic, in Greek. Pan frightens through sound. The sound of shattering glass was his signal. This photograph was taken immediately after the performance. It does not document it — it is its residue. It is not a portrait of the artist, but an imprint that my moving body left on the world as it fell. Here, accident met myth: Pan, god of panic, responded.

Set against the backdrop of the Hymettus mountain range and the Aegean skyline, Jonas Lehec intends to create a compelling contrast of experiences against captured memories.
This mural explores the intersection of digital ASCII aesthetics and natural forms through a dithered interpretation treatment. Jonas employs a deliberately low-resolution visual language, reminiscent of early digital graphics and 8-bit gaming.
The work’s mosaic-like structure creates a dialogue between ancient artistic traditions and contemporary digital culture. Through fragmented grainy pixels of a low-fi and seemingly unidentifiable place in conjunction with an analog neon sunset, this mural questions our mediated relationship with nature in an increasingly digital world, suggesting how our perception of the natural environment is increasingly perceived, stored and filtered through technological interfaces.

A few months ago, the book « Something Vibrantly Alive » was published by @poursuiteed
This book,a project by @jeanchristophearcos brings together a number of artists and friends whose practices revolve around minerals and photography. I am fortunate to have a few marble sculptures I made in Athens featured in the book. I was commissioned to write a text for this project in the winter of 2021 as part of the first writing residency of the Rencontres d’Arles, @rencontresarles but in the end, it will not be published, unlike those of my colleagues who were invited to contribute. Such are the vagaries of publishing. So that this text does not remain unpublished, I am publishing it today, and despite the absence of our words, the book is a beautiful compilation of various practices that echo the resonance of stone in the field of photography.

ATHENS IS CALLING 📞 🗣️ 💙
Among the elements revolving around the Polikatoikia Striptease Project initiated in 2018, between the marble sink and the rooftop railing, there is the intercom.
Intercom systems, like the residents of the buildings that connect them, have a life of their own. Once their life is over, they are rarely recycled. Finding these remnants is a delicate and complex task. In a way, out of modesty, these old intercoms, which bear names of former residents, hide from view. They are absent from the recycling circuits, as if the fact that they carry surnames gave them a special status. Their strange melancholic cinematographic beauty undoubtedly comes from the fact that they sonically link those inside and those outside, those who are there and those who are not there anymore.
« ΔΡΟΜΟ ΨΥΧΟΠΑΘΗ » will be shown next week in Athens! Stay tuned 💥 more info to come 💙

ATHENS IS CALLING 📞 🗣️ 💙

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed?
