It’s AAPI heritage month and I turned 41 today. I never meant to wait so long to write about what I’ve been going through and yet also considered not sharing. However, I think it’s the right time to articulate ways I felt like I lost my agency and how I've been navigating, and maybe someone out there needs to read this. What I have to say is long and can’t be condensed in one go, I have had a Patreon for years now and have not felt pulled to do anything with it until now.

There is a long list of life events I was managing through my pain and fatigue and I wish I had stopped then. The last few years, but specifically the past year, have changed me in ways that are still manifesting. I am exhausted. I feel different. I want time. I want to focus on my health. My body is something I took for granted and now I am reminded of that daily. I was often underpaid and undervalued. My work themes have involved healing, caring for the community and for others. But I feel like I prematurely tried to hold space when I didn’t always have the capacity. I have not seen the importance of caring for myself until now; feelings of incredible selfishness and guilt constantly arise.

I want to write more in-depth about my experiences and how they intersect with, affect or inspire my art practice. I want to reflect more in general. So much has happened. So much that it's hard to post in a neat digestible fashion here. Not to mention IG has increasingly become more and more censoring.

I miss my former self and life, but I’m looking forward to what will arise from this period of transformation. If you’re called to read the full and ongoing story, the link is in my bio. <3

Last night to come participate in Play Me an interactive duo show with @mathildasuniverse at @personsunknowngallery at the Bendix Building from 6-8pm.

Play Me references arcade logic, seductive interfaces, and
reward systems, Play Me frames desire as something to be navigated, earned, dispensed. Viewers encounter a
choreography of control that mirrors the games we cannot opt out of—where attention functions as currency and
intimacy is structured by design. Mathilda LaZelle’s sculptural joystick operates as both symbol and interface,
navigating femme commodification and digital dissociation, while Kayla Tange positions the audience beneath a
watching body, emphasizing asymmetries of power and sustained observation. By invitation and command, Play
Me reclaims control from the circuits that commodify pleasure, turning the performer, the watcher, and the
machine into co-conspirators in the act of touch.

To kick off the Fire Horse year, we are excited to offer another series of free workshops to the public! 🐎❤️‍🔥

Where Hwa Lives: Ancestral Memory and the Korean Diasporic body
🗓️March 6
⏰1-3:30pm
📍Hwa Studio in Arts District
RSVP + application required

A somatic exploration of ancestral memory in the individual and collective body with group discussion, sound, movement, and herbal tea.

This workshop gives members of the Korean diaspora the opportunity to dialogue with, express and explore the ancestral memory that resides in their individual and collective bodies.

We still start with group discussion about common challenges that members of the Korean diaspora face due to histories of war trauma, militarization, immigrant displacement, culture clashing, etc.

Then we’ll move into a series of deep listening and somatic explorations into what within us wants witnessing, releasing, and remembering. What we discover will culminate into a group ritual using voice, sound and movement with the support of live Korean drumming and a chrysanthemum tea serving.

Hosted by Hwa Records and faciliated by @saewwwon @_sunsong_

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
